Masterpiece #1
A couple of blogs ago I showed you the materials and the method of making a cardboard pizza-box frame for a painting, and the above photo shows the completed masterpiece.
(I was tempted to put quotation marks on the word "masterpiece" (like that) but hey, it IS a masterpiece!
All of us at Tomasito's Creative Workshop agree on THAT!

is this one of helen or bea's watercolors? (it looks more like colored pencil though...) whatever it is, i love it!
ReplyDeleteHello Jasmine--thank you for commenting--sometimes I think I am blogging for outer space!
ReplyDeleteThe original of the picture was drawn over a period of several days by Bea in colored pencil and sharp dry colored felt tip pen.
Bea has been getting more comfortable with the idea of coloring and I am very pleased about that!
I added some additional color with crayon and felt tip pen and than made a wash of transparent polymer medium over the whole picture which fixed and "softened" everything and gave the picture a permanent glossy surface.
The subject of Bea's drawing was "..a house that I lived in."
It IS a masterpiece to me. Bea is making an artistic statement from her long life experience which I appreciate very much.
